THE COW GAME
This it the concept, ideation, and creation of the app for an observational road trip content called The Cow Game.
A group of friends are on a road trip. They are excited to spend quality time together but after the excitement dies down and they have finished catching up, they turn the music up and instead of taking a nap or turning to their phones, they decide to play the cow game. There are 3 rules to the game and those are:
When you see a cow, group of cows (in the same pasture), or an image of a cow, you yell out “those are my cows” and you get a point.
If you see a church or any place of worship (must be in the title or symbol), you can steal someone else’s cows. You now take the amount of of points they had and add it to your amount.
If you see a graveyard, you can kill off someone’s cows by yelling out “____ all your cows are dead” and they now have zero points.
The draw to turning this game into an app, is that it can now be accessibly to anyone who wants to play and download the app. This case study follows the steps take from concept to Hi-fi prototype.
The problem:
Players need to keep score, but often forgets or wants to know other players' scores to strategize, is that it can lead to confusion and errors in scoring. This can create frustration for the player and for other players, who may have to rely on the player's memory to accurately track their own scores. In addition, when players have to remember their own scores over a long period of time, it can cause friction among the players, as they may disagree on the accuracy of the scores or become competitive with one another.
The solution:
The solution to this problem would be to use a digital scorekeeping system, with a dedicated scoring app. This will allow all players to easily track their own scores, as well as view the scores of other players, which can help with strategizing. It also eliminates the need for players to rely on their memory, reducing the likelihood of errors in scoring and friction among the players.
